Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Highly Effective man podcast, hosted by former Navy SEAL turned life and fitness coach. I'm your host, jp Bolwan. This podcast is your resource for unlocking the healthiest, most productive and highly effective man within you. Let's go. What's up, gentlemen? Welcome back to the Highly Effective man podcast, the show where busy men come to reclaim their strength, their energy and their leadership in life. I'm your host, jp Wolwan, 13-year Navy SEAL, life and fitness coach, firefighter, and today, being on the 4th of July, I want to talk to you guys about freedom, and we're not just talking about the fireworks kind, not the one day a year kind. I'm talking about the kind that's earned daily through discipline, sacrifice and how you choose to live your life as a man.

Speaker 1:

Now, yesterday I had the privilege of, you know, cruising. I'm here in San Diego, I got to cruise through Coronado on my way to the C4 Foundation event at the Hotel Del, and if you're not familiar with what the C4 Foundation does, what the C4 Foundation does is that they specialize, or their mission is to help reduce stress and build fortitude in SEAL families by taking them out to the ranch, strengthening their connections, their mindset and their ability to keep going when life gets tough, right, because being in the teams and it's hard on the families and that mission hits home for me, right, the event was awesome. It was a big fundraiser. There's flags everywhere all throughout Coronado, you know, american flags and families riding bikes, kids laughing, live music and you know, honestly, it was kind of like a mini SEAL reunion. You know, I saw a lot of guys that were friends back in the day or still friends and hadn't seen them in a long time, and also some newer guys that I recently connected with, and but these are all guys that have have walked the path and carried the burden and kept pushing. You know, and I never personally knew Charles Keating, but one of my good friends, he did know him and you know, over the last 30 years I've lost way too many friends and brothers to combat others to suicide, and as I stood there just kind of taking it all in and, you know, enjoying myself, I asked, you know, I couldn't help but think, but, like, have I done enough to honor them? Right, because these guys gave everything, they gave their life, right, and so at the same time I feel like I've got to give everything. We all do.

Speaker 1:

So freedom doesn't come cheap and it damn sure isn't maintained by scrolling on Instagram or skipping workouts. Think about this, right, our country was based on the founding fathers. They weren't just trying to start a business. They weren't chasing six pack abs, right. They were building an entire country based on this crazy idea.

Speaker 1:

Freedom, and that kind of legacy doesn't come through average effort. It comes through a big vision. It comes through grit, leadership and sacrifice. And the question you got to ask yourself is what are you doing to earn your freedom? Because you got to earn it every day. You want to honor the men who died for this country. You want to honor the teammates that we've lost, the fathers who have sacrificed, the brothers who have carried the burden. So stop wasting your freedom. Earn it every damn day, okay, train your body like it matters. Lead your family like it's wartime. Dominate your work like your name is on the line. Eliminate the excuses, cut out the distractions and sharpen your discipline, because freedom isn't about doing whatever you feel like. It's about having the strength to do what's right, even when it's hard.

Speaker 1:

Now I left Coronado, you know, with a full heart, right, I got to see my friends and some other guys and it was awesome, but the truth is. We are the legacy now right, we're the ones that are carrying the baton right. It's been passed and it's up to us not to just enjoy this freedom, but to live in a way that multiplies it for our kids, our kids' kids, you know, and generations to come. So I'll ask you what I was asking myself, and I constantly ask myself, is am I doing enough? Am I honoring the lives of my friends that gave everything for this country? Am I building something that matters and something that's going to last?

Speaker 1:

So, gents, this 4th of July, don't just celebrate. Reflect, lead and act on it. Do something hard today, on purpose, like for those that can't right. Lift heavy, run a hard mile, you know, push yourself, and then you can post it in the inner circle and tag a brother right, lead from the front. We don't just get freedom, we earn it, and we don't just earn it for ourselves, we earn it for our families, for our brothers and for everybody that's watching us. Let's be the kind of men who don't waste that gift.

Speaker 1:

So, if this message hits home for you, share it with somebody who needs to hear it, and if you haven't joined the inner circle yet, this is your invitation. The world needs more men who live free, lead strong and don't settle so until next time. Live disciplined, lead with purpose and earn your freedom. Let's go.
