Welcome back to the Highly Effective man podcast, the show for men who refuse to drift through life. I'm your host, jp Wolwan, 13-year Navy SEAL, veteran football player, firefighter, father and high performance coach for men who lead from the front.

Today, I'm going to give you guys the single most effective fitness and mindset system for busy men over 35. It's not a trend, not another 30-day hype fest. It's a battle-tested framework that works in real life for men with real responsibility. By the end of this episode, you'll know exactly what system to follow or how to think through your day so that you can get started today. So let's talk truth, okay.

There are challenges out there that demand strict discipline, right, like no alcohol. Two workouts a day read this, do that, and I've got respect for programs like that. There's a time and a place for all of it, right. Like 75 Hard. They promote mental toughness, personal accountability and action over excuses. That's awesome, right. But here's the thing Most of these programs, they weren't built for a man who's also raising kids, building a business or carrying the weight of leadership every day. Right, they teach intensity but not longevity. Right, compliance but not clarity. And when life hits you right, or where your kids get sick or work piles up up and your energy crashes, those programs, they don't have an off ramp. There's no framework to adapt. Right, it's all or nothing. And that's when most men fall off, because and it's not because they're weak, but it's because they're trying to force someone else's plan into a life that it was never designed for. Right, you don't need another sprint. You don't need another, you know, challenge or bootcamp, whatever you want to call it. Okay, you need structure.

And let me tell you something personal when I left the SEAL teams, I lost my mission. Right, I was so used to being in the teams and surrounded by these high-level guys For the first time in my adult life, I didn't really know what was going to happen next. Right, I went back to school, or I went to college for the first time, you know, played football there. You know, I was in my 30s playing football, and then met my wife at the University of San Diego, graduated and then I moved to Kauai and on paper everything looked great, right, but inside I was drifting, I didn't have a mission, there was no brotherhood, no system and no clarity right, I had the skills, I had the discipline, but I didn't really have direction Right. So I had to rebuild from the inside out, and what I created and what I call now the Highly Effective man System, it wasn't just to get fit, but it was to get focused, to get aligned, to become the man that I knew I could be again, since then, I've used this exact system to help hundreds of men rebuild their lives physically, mentally and as leaders.

This is the framework. There's five pieces to it. It's the foundation for a highly effective man. It's the playbook for becoming the kind of man who commands his day and leads with purpose, no matter what life throws at him.

Okay, number one is you got to construct a warrior body right. You got to be somebody who's fit, confident in the way they look and how they feel. This includes strength and conditioning and recovery, you know. And it's built for a man who's, you know, over 35 and still wants to perform, stay athletic and look the part. Okay, I have my guys lifting three days a week cardio or movements, you know, two to three days a week. It's simple, sustainable and effective. Right, you can't be having these two-hour marathon sessions in the gym.

Number two you got to sharpen emotional resilience. You can't just be physically strong, you have to be mentally unshakable. We train that through reframing, discipline reps and emotional control when things get chaotic, framing discipline reps and emotional control when things get chaotic. Number three you got to operate with mental authority. You know and this is where most men crumble right, their schedule owns them. Right, we flip that. You build your morning routines, you build your power down. Rituals and execution habits that you know make high performance almost automatic. Number four you got to identify a higher purpose. Right, this is your. Why it's not like a vision board or some other type of you know thing that's just there to hype you up. This is your mission, right, your mission as a man, a father, a leader. You know that makes this a non-negotiable right, because when the mission is clear, the the excuses disappear. Right, so surround us. And then number five is surround yourself with men who make you better. Right, cultivate high impact relationships, because the lone wolf dies. Right, we rise with a brotherhood. You need accountability, encouragement and hard truth from men who are living it right.

Let me talk to you guys about Mike right. He's 42, a business owner, father of three. He tried everything before strict challenges, nutrition plans, plans, gym memberships and it all worked right until life punched him back right. And that's when mike came to me and he stepped into this system and things changed fast. He dropped 14 pounds in six weeks, locked in a 20 minute morning routine that put him in control of his day and, most importantly, he told me this he's like jp. I feel great again, not because of the weight I lost, but because you know I've got my edge back, and that's what the highly effective man system does.
